Dion Manley is a 15-year resident of Gahanna and proud parent of a Gahanna-Jefferson School District student. Dion moved from California to Ohio to raise his daughter closer to family, and chose Gahanna because of its excellent schools. His daughter Lila, now a senior at Lincoln High, attended Jefferson Elementary and Middle School East.
A graduate of the New College of California with a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities, Dion has owned and run a small business, worked in retail for many years at a major department store, and is now enjoying a second career as a healthcare worker in the optometry field. He also has over 10 years of experience in public service with the Franklin County Board of Elections and as a volunteer leader and board member of a non-profit.
Dion’s inspiration for running in this year’s school board race is his daughter and her positive, life-changing experiences in the Gahanna-Jefferson school district. Dion is grateful for the opportunities and support Lila has enjoyed throughout her Gahanna-Jefferson school career. He is running for school board to help ensure that our schools continue to provide amazing educational opportunities for all students.
